Kindergarten clases learned about the artists Henri Matisse! We learned that he was famous for painting, but also for his work making paper cutouts with scissors.
Here are some examples of his cut outs.

To begin, we read the book Henri's Scissors by Jeanette Winter.
Every student received a bag full of squares, then they followed directions to transform the squares into different shapes.
The students did a great job of following directions!
After all the shapes were cut, the students used them to create their own pictures!
It was so interesting to walk around and ask the students to explain their creations.
Their creativity was so impressive!
Keep Creating!
